Revolutionary and unique in many ways, the Corvair pioneered several automotive technologies such as unibody design, turbocharging, and advanced aluminum production techniques. It also sparked the beginning of a focus on automotive safety, thanks to a book by a then-unknown lawyer by the name of Ralph Nader.
