The Pioneer Spirit Trail presently includes more than 12 miles of paved trails throughout Hastings. It provides a pedestrian, bike, and exercise route between major recreational centers, schools, and destinations such as Libs Park, Heartwell Park, Lake Hastings, Hastings College, Carter Park, Lincoln Elementary, Hastings Middle School, Brickyard Park, and the Downtown Central Business District.

The Hike & Bike Trails Fund is held by the Hastings Community Foundation. It provides funding to purchase benches, bike repair stations, and drinking fountains to be placed along the Pioneer Spirit Trail.
