Blue Valley Cemetery Association

About the Organization

Just south of the Little Blue River on Hwy 281, the Blue Valley Cemetery was founded in 1872.

For our veterans buried at Blue Valley Cemetery, we are in the process of making sure that each one has a memorial flag holder and headstone. Several veterans in Blue Valley Cemetery do not have headstones. Currently, the focus is to provide headstones for two Civil War veterans and one World War II veteran. We have sent what records we can find to the Federal Government to try to obtain headstones for them, however, we have been hitting stumbling blocks. Each headstone will cost $2,000.

This year we would like to purchase 12 new flags to replace some of the original flags that are getting tattered and not in condition to repair them.

This facility is maintained by volunteers.
